The Sacrament of Baptism
Baptism: A Child’s First Step in Faith
Children are a precious gift from God. Parents and guardians nurture their children’s bodies, minds, hearts, and relationships, but they are called to do even more: to help their children grow in the image and likeness of God. Every child is created to know, love, and serve God and to share eternal life with Him.
The journey of faith begins with the Sacrament of Baptism. In Baptism, original sin is washed away, the child is welcomed into the Body of Christ, and the path of lifelong spiritual formation begins—a relationship with Jesus and His Church.
At St. John’s, we joyfully welcome families seeking Baptism for their children. To fully enter into the life of the Roman Catholic Church, one begins with this first sacrament of initiation.

This is a process of formation and spiritual growth that prepares unbaptized adults to receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.
