In June of 1976, Bishop Thomas Grady of the Diocese of Orlando raised St. John’s to the dignity of a full parish and appointed Father Philip Stegeman as its first pastor. Through trials by fire, seasons of growth, and the guidance of many pastors, St. John has flourished into one of the largest and most vibrant church communities in the Dunnellon area.
